Welding seam evaluation

    Weld safety

To evaluate the weld safety of complex welded structures, a combination of today's tools, like a finite element analysis (FEA), and the experience provided by standards like DIN 15018 or FKM using the traditional nominal stress approach, can be used to improve the overal design predictability and reliability.

    Our Experience

SinusPro has extensive experience in weld safety analysis and prediction, and has developed in-house software. The software, BondCheck, allows fast and repeatable strength analysis of welded sheet metal structures. The software, Safety3D, allows the evaluation of complex 3D structures.

    SinusPro Bondcheck

This software code embeds the experience of the industry standard DIN 15018 or others, and enhances it through combination with modern stress analysis tools.

    Features:

    • Implements safety factor calculation according to DIN 15018

    • Or FKM-Guideline

    • Fast model setup by using the ABAQUS/CAE

    • Easy and repeatable weld safety postprocessing

    • Postprocessing is handeled from within ABAQUS VIEWER

    SinusPro Safety3D

This software code provides the assessment of static strength and fatigue strength with local stresses or effective notch stresses according to the FKM-Guideline.

    Features:

    • Assessment of the static strength according to FKM-Guideline

    • Assessment of the fatigue strength according to FKM-Guideline

    • Plastic notch factors can be determind reliably by use of an ABAQUS/CAE-Model.
